Notations From the Grid: A "Tip of the Week" To Share

One of the "must reads" for us here @ #Outsiders is +Techlicious as the insights it shares is invaluable in how it represents it in a straightforward manner.    Our Team received this and we wanted to report this as a 'Tip of the Week" for this edition of "Notations From the Grid".    We plan on having some direct insights on it soon:

Free Office Lens App is Almost as Good as a Desktop Scanner
Office Lens, Microsoft’s free powerful pocket scanner app (available for iOS, Android and Windows Phones) is a handy substitute for clunky desktop scanners, automatically converting photos of documents into editable Word docs, PowerPoint slides and PDFs.
There’s a lot to like about this simple productivity app. It automatically detects text and borders, and is able to automatically correct for pictures taken at an angle so all your scanned documents always look flat.

In testing, our tech editor, Fox Van Allen, found that it does a great job of automatically detecting, cropping and straightening documents, with no problems creating Word docs out of clear printed text. Oh, and did we mention it's free?

Learn more about the Office Lens app and where to get it in our story on Techlicious.

Thought For the Week: On Anger

For this edition, we chose this courtesy of compliations done by +Jonathan Huie that goes to the heart of the personal necessity if we are to ever create the ultimate "vision of the possible":

Anger is often more hurtful than the injury that caused it.
- English Proverb

For every minute you remain angry,
you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

You cannot hate other people without hating yourself.
- Oprah Winfrey

You create stress in your life by getting angry,
and you can instantly remove
that stress by granting forgiveness.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Notations From the Grid: On "CHIP" & Thought(s) For the Week

Our Founder celebrated another "Vison of the Possible" as he decided to do this over this week-end:
We try and support such innovations and showcase them here in line with the ultimate objective of creating a "Vision of the Possible".   We also want to acknowledge one of the key pioneers in this endeavor:  The team @  Raspberry Pi who were the pioneers of this movement.

These admonitions must not be forgotten as all pursue the ultimate "Vision of the Possible":

Take a chance! All life is a chance.
The man who goes farthest is generally
the one who is willing to do and dare.
- Dale Carnegie

All Life is a risk - even crossing the street, or sitting in your easy chair.
So relax, don't worry, and live the most productive and enjoyable life you can.
- Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Thought 4 the Week-End

On the eve of a new week throughout #Outsiders, this admonition is ever so critical for us to realize and embrace a creation of the "Vision of the Possible":

“Be authentic.
Don’t try to be someone you aren’t.
You’ll hate yourself for it
and the effort to maintain the facade will exhaust you.
Be real!
Many won’t like the real you
but that’s better than having people adore the person
that isn’t you at all.”

Thought For the Week: On Being "Water"

We wanted to launch the New week here in #Outsiders with this simple yet profound thought on commitment:

Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend
