Notations On Our World: On @COP21: The California Story

As we here @ #Outsiders are on the "Virtual Road' For +COP21 , we wanted to share this from NextGen Climate as its' founder is on his way to Paris.   The website they put together is quite a story to be witness to which we hope all find of interest as California continues to be a trailblazer:

As I head to Paris, I continue to mourn the victims of the horrific attacks that took place there just a few weeks ago. We're standing with the global community in honoring their memory by proceeding with the global climate summit to tackle the challenging tasks before us.

In the United States, the debate on climate action is often reduced to the false framework of jobs versus the environment. But in California we followed a different model, and as a result, we're growing our economy and creating jobs.

With the 8th largest economy in the world, California has more than 430,000 workers in the advanced energy sector. We're #1 in installed solar capacity, #1 in total advanced energy investment, and #1 in electric vehicle sales in the United States.

And when it comes to solutions, California isn't just leading the country —we're leading the world.

In Paris, we have a unique opportunity to take what we've learned in California and rewrite the story on a global scale.
Follow our journey

Thanks,

Tom Steyer
